Kateryna Bilonog, with her passion to serve the community started with her extensive volunteering track record, during her high school days at Maryland Therapeutic Riding. Her approach to serve people and animals, started with her acquaintance at Maryland Therapeutic Riding or MTR. Her first exposure to the concept of Hippotherapy and its associations came along MTR. Her love for animals, made her to learn the characteristics of horses. According to horse psychology, they gets spooked easily and needs careful and calculated attention. Hence, as MTR had around 10 horses, Kateryna Bilonog learnt the do’s and don’ts with horses. With effective therapy sessions to enhance the personality of the horses, she profoundly got one with the lessons. Her understanding towards the preciousness of human life became adjacent to these therapy lessons. Her profound ability to get one with the therapy lessons, made Kateryna Bilonog to communicate with the war veterans, suffering from PTS in the program called “Horses for Heroes”. MTR exposed her to a wider spectrum of the pertaining disabilities and the initiation of people to share a common perspective after coming in close contact to the therapy horses. After, her proficiency in the hippotherapy lessons, she expected a positive notch towards the society. Though, hippotherapy is viewed as a perfect alternative to the proven physical therapies, it’s efficiency is yet to be proved by the statistical studies. After her acquaintance with the concerned therapy at MTR, Kateryna Bilonog wants it to be empowered by insurance. Her believe towards humanity, starts with a dream of a healthy family.
